 Like bitter little buds of purest evil, capers are undoubtedly the devil's clagnuts. They taste of wasp-sting medicine and smell like stale wee. They infest with poor bitter flavour whatever you add them too. Fancy restaurants insist on tossing them into salads and onto pizzas. Supermarkets think that you can make an ordinary jar of olives into a deluxe jar just by mixing in a handful. Capers are ickle AND evil and they should be banned. MP |
