Traditionally the eggs ("roe") of the sturgeon, caviar has an undeserved reputation for glitz and glamour. Why, you almost can't even say the word without following it up with "dah-ling". However, like many reputations based on glitz and glamour, this one is demonstrably false: there's nothing glamourous about stuffing your gob with fish gametes and discovering they taste like someone's just poured a gallon of fish oil and a pound of salt down your throat. Urgh.
