effects. In the old days you had one pair a year and they were very expensive (so much so, my brother had his first pair insured). This meant much crouching on the floor searching when they were dropped during insertion or removal. Nowadays, in our throwaway culture, we have daily disposable lenses, removing the need for cleaning and storing them. Contacts are certainly ickle but they change many peoples lives.
