 Trust the French to come up with this inspired piece of marketing genius: "Eh, Pierre, what shall we doo weeth zees dry old baguette?" ... "I kneau Jean, chop eet up and put eet in your soop!". And thus, the crouton was born. Croutons also have the tendency to hang out in salads, especially of the Caesar kind, which is something I never quite understood really. DP |
