Escherichia coli (or E. coli as it's usually abbreviated to) makes up approximately 0.1% of the total bacteria within an adult's
  intestines. However, it's not this naturally occuring "good" E. coli we have to worry about ... it's the nasty alternative strains which do all the damage (you know, haemorrhaging and stool issues and the like). And that's why pasteurisation and clear meat juices are our friends, boys and girls.
