India and Thailand though). Growing at a rate of around 0.1mm each day, fingernails are useful for scratching backs, finding the start of rolls of sellotape and accumulating dirt. They're completely replaced every four to six months too which is useful if you're in the habit of biting them (as many people seem to be).
