 All wizened and wize, grandmothers come in almost every conceivable configuration under the sun. Some will swear like a trooper - others are a picture of virtue. Some sit and fish while others sit and knit. Pre-requisites for being a grandmother: an extensive knowledge of home baking, the ability to tell embarrassing stories from your grandchildrens' childhoods, a love of competitive card games and generally just being small and huggable ... making them one of the best small things in the world I reckon.
