nice bonnet

Fast disappearing on modern vehicular contraptions, the humble hood ornament stood out as a status symbol and badge of honour at the front of many of the world's most classic cars. Perhaps the most recognisable at all is the "Spirit of Ecstasy" (or the "Flying Lady"),
designed by Charles Skyes for Rolls Royce in the early 1900s and still gracing bonnets today. Apparently, research has shown that the thing Rolls-Royce owners value the most is a hood ornament which can be clearly seen from either side of the car's back seat. Because, you know, it's all about prioritising when you shell out several hundred thousand of your native currency on buying one of the things.
