A Jack Russell terrier is an ickle dog. They could be described as being 150 pounds of dog in a ten pound body or more aptly, an ickle dog shaped tornado! JR's are energetic, highly, intelligent, curious, bundles of iron muscles with steel springs for legs.

They can jump [4 or 5 feet is not at all unusual - so kitchen worktops are a doddle]. They can climb [fences, trees and step ladders]. They swim [but like it to be muddy] and although they can retrieve with the best of them, you may not get your stick back [mine however seems to have not got the hang of this yet]. They are incredibly loyal with an unsurmountable desire to please the humans they love.
