It's small ... no wait, now it's big! For such a small creature, the pufferfish's transformation into something resembling Louis   Armstrong's distended cheeks is quite amazing. Through a complicated system of muscle flaps and specialised gills, the pufferfish can quite happily fill its belly with water or air until the need to do so has gone. Possessing no ribs also helps significantly in this endeavour. DP
