expand and contract

An essential part of most eyes, pupils let light reach the photsensitive cells at the back of the eye and thus, allowing
vision to occur. They also expand and contract to let more or less light in, depending on the circumstances (an operation performed by the iris, aka the coloured bit). Oh, and if you fancy someone, the iris does a pretty good job of dilating them even more ... hubba hubba.
