Most of us will take thousands, no probably millions of them in our respective lifetimes but pause to consider the humble step. It's   only a pittance in length but put a few of them together and they can take us to the corner shop, right the way round a continent or even across different heavenly bodies altogether. Old Master Tzu was right ... the longest journey can only start with that first one. DP
