For something that's been so vilified by the British press, the
Millennium Dome was surprisingly good. Unswayed by the prospect of "Oh the humanity!" style crowds, a couple of flatmates and I set forth to Greenwich and had an enjoyable Saturday out. Most interesting "zone": Self Portrait (it's always fascinating to watch a country indulge in a bit of navel-gazing). Downside of the day: the feeling that you were constantly trying to be sold something through subtle product placement and sponsorship (
my employers were, unfortunately, the worst culprits). The exhibits also reminded me of
Te Papa in style and execution: another excellent day out, half a world away.
I also met up with
Luke,
Meg and
Tom for a drink or two early that evening: introductions were made and cunning plans hatched - all I can say is keep an eye on the blogs of those crazy kids over upcoming days (weeks?). It'll be worth it!
