For something that's been so vilified by the British press, the Millennium Dome was surprisingly good. Unswayed by the prospect of "Oh the humanity!" style crowds, a couple of flatmates and I set forth to Greenwich and had an enjoyable Saturday out. Most interesting "zone": Self Portrait (it's always fascinating to watch a country indulge in a bit of navel-gazing). Downside of the day: the feeling that you were constantly trying to be sold something through subtle product placement and sponsorship (my employers were, unfortunately, the worst culprits). The exhibits also reminded me of Te Papa in style and execution: another excellent day out, half a world away.

I also met up with Luke, Meg and Tom for a drink or two early that evening: introductions were made and cunning plans hatched - all I can say is keep an eye on the blogs of those crazy kids over upcoming days (weeks?). It'll be worth it!
