"It happened on one fine day that a young Kiwi, living in a land at the bottom of the world, did chance across a contraption of punga logs, lashed together with ropes of the strongest flax. And verily did the curious bird climb aboard this raft and was soon swept out to sea by the strong winds that Papatuanuku did blow upon him. After many days and many nights the Kiwi was washed ashore, cold and frightened, in a strange and hostile land. In this land, he wandered alone for as many days and nights again before meeting a group of welcoming strangers who did show him the stupefying nectar and the food that made his beak hurt with fire. And it came to pass that many friendships were formed and that the Kiwi lived contentedly with his new friends, in this new land, for as many days and nights once more."

Chipshop's Fables.

The amoral of the story, dear reader? "Don't get blown out unless you want a good time."
