According to this article, NZ has 1.2 million surfers which is roughly 31.5% of the population. Now I know these surveys are notoriously dodgy, but as far as I can work out (again from the aforementioned article), the UK has an equivalent net-savvy population of only 15.8%. I now pronounce an end to sporadic posts! It looks as though Crosswinds' FTP server is functional again (after only a few months of being down) so you can expect a more regular transmission schedule from now on ... that is, if I have any readership left! Do I?

The haunting, ethereal metre of the haiku meets its modern match: test the waters of fate at 100 Trillion Haiku and you too could come up with something like this ...
gently, illusion
leaps bleakly, goats blow, souls bend
yearning rivers drink

Don't ever complain that you're stuck for something to do in London: from the events section of BT Connect ...
13 May 2000: 5000 women clad in decorative bras are scheduled to "powerwalk" a marathon around Battersea Park from midnight tonight to raise money for charity. The Playtex Moonwalk aims to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research. Contestants can choose between a full or half marathon as well as a variety of comical lingerie from the "Walk The Walk" website. Last year, the "Walk The Walk" group donned brassieres and strolled its way through 12 marathons, rasing £300,000. The group hope to raise £500,000 this time around."
Well done ladies!
