Take a look at what these little thieves have done ... then take a look at how it's supposed to be. How rude.

Argh. Still no FTP access.

"Good Evening Rockall" looks good for a laugh: I've organised some tickets and you can too ... just e-mail Charis.

Tragedy in Greece: News of the ferry sinking woke me up with a start this morning - it's a very eerie feeling to know you were in that stretch of water a matter of only a few days ago.

Eeek! Scary media people have invaded the studio and are running around filming people for God knows what - they just asked to borrow a keyboard, but not just any keyboard, a Compaq keyboard. Hmmm. I daren't even speculate on their devilish purposes ... begone with your blinding lights and televisual smarm!

Our flat took delivery yesterday of this little item courtesy of the fine folks at Doritos ... let the digitally enhanced good times roll (any suggestions for titles to buy will be gratefully received).

Meg waxes lyrical on blogging ... you're definitely turning into a new-media darling, dahling!

Well, I'm back - slightly browner, slightly tireder and slightly more in liver failure than when I left. Greece (Santorini, Ios and Mykonos) was an absolute blast ... highly recommened to all (I'll definitely be back).

Memorable moments = stray cats, dogs and Eurotrash all over the show, fantastic beaches and crystal sea water, lethal cocktails (the Government mandate for Tequila Sunrises is apparently 75% tequila, 25% orange juice), £1.50 packs of cigs and alternately fiery/dodgy Greeks. If any good pics emerge from my budget instamatic, then I'll post them up here.

Being as tired as a tired thing was however no obstacle to enjoyment of last night's Radiohead concert. The lads certainly pulled off one helluva show - as Caroline has said, Thom Yorke's vocals soar amazingly in concert. The new material doesn't sound too bad either ... "Kid A" will be a definite grower methinks (BBC Review here).

From the neuroscience wires #1: the cerebellum is responsible for people not being able to tickle themselves. Sesame Street muppet Elmo could not be reached for comment.

School Disco was a blast - highly recommended for those trying to reclaim their lost youth (if you can stomach the high cover charge and drinks prices). Pics may be coming soon.

Congratulations to Caroline who's the big winner in the pi competition: 264112 was the magic start position for the lovely Prol's birthday. Thanks to all those who entered!

For a dose of total insanity, check out the Poo-Chi site. Are they trying to drive children round the twist?

All my pre-teen "Grange Hill" fantasies get to come true tomorrow night with a visit to School Disco with the requisite Kiwi posse. The whole shebang looks like "a lorra larfs" as Cilla Black might say - can't wait!

I seem natter a lot about Meg and Luke these days but in the timeless words of L'Oréal, they're worth it! The dynamic duo have just taken over Katy's equally fit kitschbitch while the good lady herself is on holiday - watch out world, you're next!

One of history's most fervent debates: the origin of the pavlova. Looks as though it was a joint effort - any thoughts Luke?

El Vez, the scary Mexican Elvis impersonator. Included on the front page of this site is a series of media quotes including, "... viciously overrated" (Buzz Magazine). Is that intended to be a compliment or just interpreted as such?

How to find the cheapest hotel in Las Vegas, baby! Speaking of foreign climes, it's now t-minus nine days and counting until I hit Greece. Mmmm ... Greece. Special guest hosts for cortex may now apply within :)

Competition update: last chance to dance! See if your birthday's in pi and send it to me - birthdates should be in dd/mm/yy format. The lucky grand prize winner will be announced in a few days time ... again, stay tuned!

TV Go Home, you constantly rawk. This week features the "Soho Olympics" for which Meg and I will be creating a new event. Watch this space.

Wacky clubbers are starting to take Prozac with ecstacy because the former supposedly counteracts the latter's perceived side effects. Madness. If you're worried about what a recreational drug is doing to you then you should probably stop taking it. Nah, too obvious. While we're on MDMA (the topic, not the drug), I spent Friday night clubbing with a bunch who had 'ingested' said substance - they couldn't keep their hands off me! (a novel experience I assure you). Anyway, it was pretty weird ... so I went and had another Becks. Alcohol's good like that.

Much respect goes out to Doritos - last night's dinner was nachos, lovingly prepared by your humble author, which contained one of those "kiss to reveal your prize" ticket type things from their current promotion. So kiss I did, and the flat-bought corn chips netted us a DVD player! Nachos never tasted so good I tells ya.

The flatmates and I got to play corporate wankers yesterday after scoring tickets to one of the London Arena's VIP boxes to see the London Knights in action (an ice-hockey team, not a strip troupe). The match itself was reasonably entertaining, furthered along by calls like "Fight! Fight! Fight!" and "Show him some biffo!". We declined the public skating on the rink afterwards though: my arse and frozen water don't get along.

In a "Fanny, Alice, Willie, Tim, Lucy, Hattie, Lizzie, Jim" moment (as my Grandad would say), I met up with assorted GBlogs kids (Luke, Tom, Meg, Katy, Jen, Chris, Giles, Dan and intrepid reporter Debbie) last night for sushi and ale. And a nice bunch they were too: old war stories were swapped amongst the troops and Tom and Katy reconfirmed their positions as the George and Mildred of weblogging ;) Pics available here.

The evening also inspired a bizarre blog related dream in which we were all present at a massive American political party-style weblogging convention, with Jason and Meg as the surprise special guests. Tom also offered a rebuttal to some earlier blogged comments regarding the two in a rather amusing fashion. That's all I can remember. Weird.
