A spot of pride-swallowing: I've managed to avoid the infamous Shepherd's Bush Walkabout Inn for the whole nine-plus months I've been in London, but that changed on Saturday. As spotted in local Antipodean rag TNT, said establishment was having "The Famous Invercargill Reunion" that afternoon so trot along I did, with several other Invercargillites in tow. While hometown residents were surprisingly thin on the ground, a few familiar faces and blasts-from-the-past made for some entertaining banter and the 2-4-1 Steinlager more than helped the conversation flow.

Entertainment for the evening consisted of a trip to see Supergirly who mercilessly destroyed the "work" of Christina Agriculture, Britney, x number of boy bands, and topped it all off with the charity rendition of "Perfect Day" (getting all the voices (especially Heather Small's) down pat). It was good to see the crowd stop taking themselves so seriously and have a laugh for once! The early hours of the morning saw a run-in with one of Her Majesty's Immigration officers, but that's a story for another time ...
