Well, the Idol circus has come and gone (huzzah!) and I suppose we've only got ourselves to blame for the national frothing-at-the-mouth that such things create ... we basically invented the bloody format a few years back. And you can forget about the dust settling ... the televisual artery clogging of the American version is starting up in a couple of weeks. Oh, and there'll probably be another round of the Australian one for good measure later in the year. And don't forget World Idol just in time for Christmas!

While we're ranting, am I the only one to find it ironic that a devout Christian won the title of "NZ Idol"? I thought there was a commandment against holding people up as idols? Something about Itself Upstairs being unhappy about that sort of carry on? Hmmm.
